Having grown up as the nerdy kid, I would rather read than go outside to play. I was always the last kid to be picked during kickball, dodgeball, or any team sport. I do not have one athletic bone in my body. After the birth of my two daughters, I had an “aha” moment when I saw a picture of myself. Like most mothers, I had put everybody else before me. I was eating what the kids were eating, sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day and doing absolutely nothing about it. I found a nutritionist and a trainer and started working out. Wade joined me and we started getting stronger together. We wanted to lead a healthier lifestyle and wanted to set an example for our kids. Since becoming an affiliate in 2008, we have not looked back. We love our community and the camaderie of CrossFit. We cheer each other on during the wods. We push each other. We are family. Most of our closest friends are people who are members. We celebrate each other’s achievements inside and outside of the box. This is the strongest I have ever been in my life! Both of my girls work out with us and understand the importance of being stronger and better than yesterday.
