SC born and bred, I’ve lived from the coast to the sandhills and finally settled in the Upstate. I love this area the most!
I graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Psyclology and a minor in Biological Science, have been a police officer and a Business Owner of a small construction company.
I enjoy the intensity, competitiveness and comradery of CrossFit. My favorite WOD is “Lynne” and I hate to run. I really enjoy coaching others and watching them get stronger, faster and more fit!

Wade and I were introduced to CrossFit about 2 1/2 years ago, and we haven’t looked back since! We love it! Our first box was opened 2 1/2 years ago in a 300 sq ft storage unit, now we are in this place! I am the strongest I have ever been in my life! What I love about CF is that it is for EVERYONE! We have 4 year olds to 60 year olds in here working out! All of it is scalable. The competitiveness of our athletes makes me want to be stronger and faster! The camaraderie of the box is second to none. All of us are like family. I have been CF certified for a year and love to help others become stronger, faster and all around healthier. I have two girls, ages 11 & 13, who CF as well.

I’m a Simpsonville native, Gamecock, and lover of all things endurance related. I played rugby in college and love being part of a team. Before CrossFit I ran. I lifted. I was sure I was “fit.” Then I did my first CrossFit workout. Cindy. I thought I was going to die. My ego definitely died. After that I was hooked.
I started CrossFit for the tough workouts, but what keeps me coming back is the camaraderie. I’ve visited boxes all over the country; all sizes and different focuses, but there are always 2 constants. You’re guaranteed a great workout and you will be welcomed by people who are genuinely happy that you are there no matter you’re strength, speed, or ability.

Before coming to Hit, I practiced Crossfit on my own at one of the local globo gyms. Eventually becoming fed up with the globo gym culture, and also the many strange looks I received on a daily basis, I found Hit Crossfit in 2010 and never looked back. I have been involved with physical fitness my entire life. During my years studying exercise science and marketing at Central Michigan, I played football and rugby. Since graduating and being forced into adult hood, where coming to work with a black eye from a rugby match is no longer acceptable, Crossfit has filled the competitive void. The once dreaded olympic lifts I was forced to do in college have become movements that I enjoy practicing and improving upon every time I step into the box.
The next logical step for me was to teach others my passion. I received my Level One Certification in 2011 and plan on continuing my education to improve as a trainer and as a Crossfit enthusiast. My favorite WOD is Eva.

I got mixed up in Crossfit, turned upside down,
And I’d like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I became a trainer in the box over there.
in the weightroom is where i spent most of my days,
chillin’ out, maxin’, deadliftin’ all cool and all,
squattin’ 500 outside the school,
when a couple of guys said, hey you’re pretty good,
and started wanting training in my neighborhood.
I got one little client, and my mom got scared.
She said, “You’re doing your level one in Charlotte with Coach A.”I whistled for a WOD and when it came near,
it was full of double unders and the gym shed a tear,
I programmed some burpees for some added flair, yo man forget it, I’ll be over there.

I originally started Crossfitting in 2007. An injury to my shoulder curtailed my beach body lifting routine and i needed something different to stay in shape. A friend suggested Crossfit and i was hooked after my first workout (Murph). Originally i did the WODs on my own in a Gold’s Gym but lack of equipment, and training led me to join a local affiliate. The difference between training alone and with a group of like minded knowledgable people is too vast to describe. My evolution as a Crossfitter has taken me to getting my Cert 1 and competing in the Open in 2011, but more importantly it has brought me into contact with a community of some of the best people i have ever known. As i look back on my first Spartan Race, mud runs, obstacle runs and simply crushing memorial WODs (Coal Miner Memorial WOD look it up) i always think to myself “What in the hell are they going to get me into next” and i know there is no place else i would rather be or people i would rather be living this life with. Crossfit is more than just a strength and conditioning program. It is a mental attitude and a community.
